U.S. forces conduct military drills in Al-Omar oil field

Activists have told SOHR that US forces stationed in Al-Omar oil field in eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zour conducted military drills, firing flares and shells using heavy weapons in the perimeter of al-Omar field.

On January 5, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored military exercises by US forces in Koniko gas field, during which they carried out artillery bombardment.

The Syrian Observatory also learned that U.S. military reinforcement had arrived at Koniko gas field in Khasham Desert in Deir ez-Zor countryside. Columns of American forces were seen leaving Al-Omar oil field.
