People of Idlib hold sit-in demonstration on M4 for the second consecutive day, preventing the Turks from removing soil barriers

Syrian Observatory activists reported that the people of Idlib have been still holding a sit-in near Jisr Ariha overlooking Aleppo-Latakia international highway (M4), for the second consecutive day. Some protestors cut off the M4 highway from the side of Jisr Ariha by setting fire to tires. Meanwhile, a Turkish patrol has arriver in the area with other vehicles used for removing barriers, in order to clear the M4 highway for Turkey-Russia joint patrols which are planned to start tomorrow.

Yesterday, SOHR activists reported seeing a large number of Idlib’s residents heading towards Jisr Ariha, on Latakia–Aleppo international highway (M4). The demonstrators are setting up tents for holding a sit-in under the name “I’tsam Al-Karamah” (Sit-in of Dignity), in rejection of Russia–Turkey joint patrols which are expected to be run on Sunday.

Meanwhile, regime forces resumed removing soil barriers, clearing the roads to the M4. for their part, Turkish forces started removing soil barriers near their observation post in Maar Hattat on Damascus–Aleppo international highway (M5).
