Child and his father injured as an old landmine explodes north of Hama

SOHR sources say that an old landmine left over from the war exploded today, hitting an agricultural tractor in northern countryside of Hama. According to Observatory sources, a civilian and his child were seriously injured while working on agricultural land near Ma’an town, north of Souran.

The northern Hama countryside is an epicenter of mines and or other remnants of war due to military operations in the region during previous years.

On March 16, the Syrian Observatory documented the death of a child and the injury of another due to the explosion of an old land-mine in a farm on the outskirts of Douma city in eastern Ghouta, Damascus.
