Unknown gunmen detonate Al-Kufayr bridge on M4 in rejection of the recent Turkish-Russian agreement
Activists have informed SOHR that unknown gunmen, believed to be of jihadi groups, booby-trapped and detonated Al-Kufayr bridge on Latakia-Aleppo international highway (M4), west of Jisr Al-Shughur village. This incident is added to jihadi groups’ practices which express their rejection of the recent agreement between Turkey and Russia.
A few days ago, SOHR sources reported that that unknown individuals re-erected soil barriers, blocking Latakia-Aleppo international highway (M4) at Al-Nayrab town, east of Idlib. It is noteworthy that Turkish forces had removed soil barriers in these areas, clearing the way for running joint patrols with the Russians.
On March 18, the Syrian Observatory monitored Turkish vehicles and bulldozers, working to reopen Aleppo-Latakia international highway, after it was blocked in various ways by HTS and jihadist factions.
