Al-Sweida’s security chaos: unidentified body found with signs of torture

Al-Sweida governorate- Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR activists say that residents of Al-Brika village, north of Al-Sweida, found today the body of an unidentified person.

According to Observatory sources, the person was killed a few days ago and the body shows signs of torture.

Al-Sweida province is witnessing a big uptick in gang’s activities, including kidnapping, killing and car theft.

On March 16, SOHR sources reported that unidentified gunmen kidnapped a young man and stole another person’s car, after cutting off the road near the village of “Sama Al-Hanidat” in rural Al-Sweida.

A number of civilians and local factions gathered at the junction of the village of Al-Tira, west of Al-Sweida amid heightened tension following the incident.

Car theft has turned into a phenomenon that worries civilians in Al-Sweida province.
