Unknown assailants attack checkpoint of Republican Guard forces in eastern Ghouta

Rif Dimashq Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR activists have reported hearing clashes with light weapons yesterday in Hazza town in Eastern Ghouta in Rif Dimashq. According to SOHR sources, the clashes, which lasted for nearly two hours, followed an attack by unknown assailants on a checkpoint affiliated to the Republican Guard forces at the outskirts of Hazza town.

Local sources have informed SOHR that ambulances have been heard rushing to the targeted checkpoint, which is likely that members of the checkpoint were killed or injured.

On March 5, reliable sources informed SOHR that unknown assailants opened fire on a military checkpoint of the regime’s “9th Division” in Zakyah town in the western Al-Ghouta in Rif Dimashq. No casualties were reported about.
