Many rebels killed and injured as armed fight among Turkish-backed factions in Afrin continues

Aleppo Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR activists have documented the killing of a rebel of the “51st Brigade” as well as the injury of five others due to armed fight between the Turkish-backed factions of “al-Jabha al-Shamiyyah” and “51st Brigade” in Afrin city. The city is controlled by Turkish forces and factions operating under the banner of “Olive Branch” operation room.

Reliable SOHR sources confirmed earlier this afternoon that clashes with light and medium weapons erupted in Afrin city center, north-west of Aleppo, between a group of “al-Jabha al-Shamiyyah” and gunmen of the “51st Brigade”.

According to SOHR sources, the clashes intensified and evolved to the use of heavy weapons like RPG and anti-tank shells, triggering panic among the city’s people. Reasons behind this fight have yet to be known.
