Syrian regime releases reservists under terms of service duration

General Command of the Syrian Army issued new decisions, to be implemented from April 7, releasing reserve officers and civilian reserve affiliates who have served more than three years of reserve service as of the 1st of April 2020.

The decisions cover reservist physicians who will be released by a decision of the Department of Medical Services  in the case that they are not required.

The decisions also release the military and non-commissioned reserve officers who have served more than seven years of military service as of the 1st of April 2020, in addition to those reservists who have had 30% of disability.

The reservists who have avoided military recalls are excluded of this decision.

General Command of the Syrian Army issued similar order on the 31st of January 2019, releasing reservists who are over 42 years old except physicians.
