Turkish-backed factions continue their violation levying illegal taxes on herders

Aleppo Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR sources have reported today that members of Turkish-backed factions levied illegal taxes on herders for grazing in the area around Marata village in rural Afrin. “Al-Hamzat division” imposed on each head of cattle 1,000 Syrian pounds and on the sheep one 500 Syrian pounds.

They also prevented villagers from grazing their sheep in the mountainous area unless the headers pay taxes or buy the mountainous land.

Yesterday, members of Turkish-backed “Northern Brigade” arrested three civilians from Abraz village in rural Afrin and they were taken to an unknown destination. No details on the reasons and motives for the arrest are available.
