Clashes among Turkish-backed factions trigger security tension in Afrin

Aleppo Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

The Syrian Observatory has monitored this evening clashes between gunmen of Turkish-backed factions in Afrin, because one of the “Kurdish Hawks” faction’s vehicle crossed a security checkpoint belonging to “Al-Jabha Al-Shamiya”. Clashes took place with machine guns between the two sides, while “Al-Jabha Al-Shamiya” faction managed to capture “Kurdish Hawks” members.

Meanwhile, tension is prevailing in the town of Afrin between the two factions.

On April 5, Syrian Observatory activists reported that gunmen from Homs, who have been displaced to Al-Ra’i area in the north-eastern countryside of Aleppo, killed a Turkish-backed fighter in a refugee camp in Al-Ra’i. The displaced gunmen shot dead the Turkish-backed fighter after he had opened fire indiscriminately over the tents in a camp in the area, causing panic among displaced people there.
