Tense calm prevails in the “de-escalation zone” as the new ceasefire enters its 36th day

Syrian Observatory activists have reported that tense calm is prevailing throughout the area of “Putin – Erdogan” as the new ceasefire enters its 17th consecutive day. Meanwhile, aerial bombardment has been fully suspended since the new ceasefire came into effect on the 6th of March 2020.

Yesterday, Observatory sources reported that regime forces shelled Kansafra towns and areas in Jabal al-Zawiya in southern countryside of Idlib with artillery. The shelling coincided with flight of reconnaissance drones over the area.

SOHR sources also reported that regime forces fired several rockets in the early hours of Thursday morning, targeting areas in Sfuhen and Al-Fatira in Jabal al-Zawiya.
