Russia and Turkey prepare to set up joint military base in northern rural Al-Hasakeh

Reliable sources have informed the Syrian Observatory that Russian and Turkish forces are preparing to set up a joint military post in the area of the agricultural airport at the village of Um Ushbeh at the crossroads of Darbasiya – Ras Al Ain – Abu Rassine in northern rural Al-Hasakeh.

SOHR sources confirmed that preparations were being made in secret amid intensive Russian military movement, along with bringing in logistical equipment.

On April 10, SOHR sources reported that Russian and Turkish forces conducted a joint patrol, consisting of six Russian vehicles and six Turkish ones setting off from the area of Derona Aghi. The patrol roamed near the oil wells in the area of Turbet Sabiyeh in countryside of Al-Hasakeh.
