Coronavirus in regime-held areas: numbers of people infected with Coronavirus surpass 70, more than one third in Latakia province alone.

The Syrian regime keeps hiding  the real figures of people infected with the novel coronavirus in  areas under its control, creating widespread discontent among the general public.

Reliable medical sources in regime-controlled areas have provided the Syrian Observatory with new information on the spread of the virus. The number of Syrians infected with the novel coronavirus in Latakia province has reached 26 confirmed cases. In Tartus governorate, the number has reached 16 confirmed cases, while the number of Syrians infected with coronavirus in Aleppo, Damascus, Hama, Homs and Daraa, has reached 30.

This brings the total number of infected cases with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in regime-controlled areas to 72 confirmed cases. Meanwhile, the number of people who have been quarantined jumped to 500, with 220 tested negative and were consequently discharged from hospitals.

As the Syrian government keeps hiding the real figures of infected cases in its areas of control, Syrian regime’s Ministry of Health announced yesterday that the total number of infected cases with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) had reached 25.
