Coronavirus in regime-held areas: 1,300 people quarantined and number of people infected with the virus jumps to 100, over half of them in Tartus and Latakia

The Syrian Observatory continues tracking and monitoring the latest developments concerning the spread of coronavirus pandemic in regime-controlled areas.

According to SOHR latest statistics obtained by reliable medical sources in regime-held areas, the number of people infected with the virus Coved-19 has reached 98 confirmed cases, broken down as follows: 37 cases in Latakia governorate, 21 cases in Tartus, and the rest of cases are in Aleppo, Damascus, Hama, Homs and Daraa.

Meanwhile, the number of people who have been quarantined jumped to 1,300, 420 of whom tested negative and were consequently discharged from hospitals.

As the Syrian government keeps hiding the real figures of infected cases in its areas of control, Syrian regime’s Ministry of Health announced that the total number of infected cases with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) had reached 38.
