The Internal Security Forces (Asayish) issued a statement regarding the recent clashes with the regime-backed “National Defence Forces” (NDF) in Al-Qamishly city.

The Syrian Observatory has obtained a copy of the statement which reads ” the ‘National Defence Forces’ attempt to wreak havoc and disturbing the security through attacking Asayish Forces’ positions in Al-Qamishli”

Asayish Forces have threatened to respond to any power’s attempts to disturb the security in cities and towns of the north-eastern Syria and that they will not stay silence any more.

Asayish Forces also said in their statement that NDF attacked their military post in Hilko neighborhood, in an attempt to advance into Autonomous Administration-held areas and establishing military posts and checkpoints there, near the railway. “NDF practices reveal the helplessness of the Syrian regime and loyal militias” the Internal Security Forces added.

Yesterday, clashes erupted between Asayish Forces and NDF nearly a week after tension started to escalate. Over the past week, the Internal Security Forces’ headquarters came under NDF attacks using bombs and grenades.

SOHR sources reported yesterday that fierce clashes erupted between the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) and regime-backed National Defence Forces (NDF), in Al-Qamishly city. The clashes were concentrated in Halku area where NDF unleashed an attack on Asayish forces.

Reliable reported suggested there were casualties in the ranks of both sides. Meanwhile, Russian forces and Autonomous Administration interfered attempting to defuse tension between both conflicting parties.
