Violations in areas held by Turkish-backed factions: elderly woman killed during robbery and displaced people kill elderly man using batons

Aleppo Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

Reliable sources have told the Syrian Observatory that a group of displaced people in the town of Medanki in rural Afrin, brutally beat a Kurdish civilian with hands and batons, for refusing to allow them to graze their cattle on his agricultural land near the village. The attack caused him to severe bleeding and died hours later, while Turkish-backed factions and police have stood idly by.

On April 18, the body of an elderly woman was found in the village of Hikja in rural Jandires, who was strangled by members of Turkish-backed “Al-Waqqas” to steal her jewellery.

On April 18, reliable sources informed the Syrian Observatory that militants from Turkish-backed factions were imposing large sums of money on Kurdish civilians for handing over their homes they seized.
