IED explosion injures high-ranking regime officer in airforce intelligence and kills his companion in rural Daraa
SOHR sources say that an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded targeting the vehicle of a lieutenant of regime airforce intelligence, in the area between Da’il-Ebta’a, injuring him and killing his companion.
The officer is in charge of three security checkpoints in Daraa countryside, Ebta’a-Da’il checkpoint on the highway, Ebta’a-Da’il checkpoint on al-Babur road, and al-Qasr land road checkpoint.
This brings the number of attacks and assassination attempts in various forms and methods by detonating IEDs, mines, booby-trapped vehicles and shootings from past June to date, to more than 417 attacks.
While the number of those who killed and died in the same period has risen to 256 persons, 51 of whom are civilians, including five women and four children, in addition to 137 members of regime forces, loyalists and collaborators with regime security services.
45 members of opposition factions were also killed, those who made “settlements and reconciliations” with the regime and became members of regime security services, including former leaders, and 17 members of Syrian militias affiliated to Lebanese “Hezbollah” and Iranian forces, in addition to six members of so-called “Fifth Corps” established by Russia.
