IS executes 61 people during the ninth month of declaration its alleged “Caliphate”

SHOR documented IS execution of 61 people during the ninth month of the declaration of its own “Caliphate State”. The executions carried out in the period from February 28 to March 28.

IS executed 36 civilians in the provinces of Hama, Homs, Aleppo, al- Raqqa, Deir Ezzor, and al- Hasakah for “Insulting God, dealing with the regime forces, recruiting people to kidnap IS memebrs, homosexuality and spying. They also executed 21 rebels for “entering weapons from Turkey, fighting with YPG, apostasy, joining the awakening camps in Jordan, and Saudi Arabia and arresting and torturing a brother. In addition to, they executed 4 members of the regime forces and allied militiamen. Thus, the number of civilians, rebels, IS militants and regime members who were executed by IS has risen to 2030 since the declaration of their alleged “Caliphate” in 6/28/2014 until 2/28/2015, where They executed 1274 civilians, including children and women. They were executed by beheading, shooting, throwing from buildings or stoning in the provinces of Deir Ezzor, al- Raqqa, al- Hasakah, Aleppo, Homs and Hama. 930 out of 1274 are from al- Shaitaat tribe in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. In addition to, 116 fighters of YPG, the Nusra Front, rebels and Islamist battalions were executed by IS after arresting them either in clashes between the mentioned battalions and IS or on IS- checkpoints.

On the other hand, the organization executed 515 officers and members from the regime forces after they were arrested during the clashes with IS or on IS checkpoits.

SOHR believes that the number of people executed by IS in the last nine months is bigger that the number documented by it because there are hundreds of detainees and missing people inside IS jails.
