Turkish-backed factions kidnap four civilians in rural Ras Al-Ain (Sere Kaniye)
Syrian Observatory sources say that the Turkish-backed “Military Police” kidnapped four civilians from Katouf village in the western countryside of Ras Al-Ain (Sere Kaniye) yesterday.
The kidnapped people were taken to unknown destination, while the reasons behind kidnapping them have yet to be revealed.
This incident comes as a part of practices by Turkish forces and their proxies to clamp down on civilians in areas held by “Peace Spring” factions.
Yesterday, SOHR sources reported that Turkish intelligence released (Sheikh Onaizan), one of the most prominent tribe elders in Al-Raqqah province, less than 24 hours after arresting him in Mushayrifat Al-Sheikh Ahmed in Tal Abyad countryside.
For his part, the Sheikh thanked media outlets which participated in exerting pressure on Turkish authorities to release him. According to the Sheikh, Turkish forces accused him of dealing with Syria Democratic Forces, and he responded to these allegations saying that he had no ties with SDF or any other parties.
It is noteworthy that SOHR and other media outlets exerted pressure attempting to force Turkish authorities to release the old Sheikh.
SOHR sources reported on Wednesday that Turkish armored vehicles with members of Turkish-backed military police stormed Mushirfeh Al-Sheikh Ahmed village in rural Tal Abyad, arresting a Sheikh of of Al-Nu’aym tribe for belonging previously to the “Tribal Council” of SDF, while his fate remained unknown to date.
