Regime and SDF trade fire with Turkish forces in rural Abu Rasin (Zarkan)

Syrian Observatory sources monitored exchange of attacks with shells and heavy machineguns in the early hours of Tuesday morning, between regime forces and SDF on one hand, and Turkish forces and proxies on the other, in the areas of Bab Al-Farg, Rubay’at, Dada Abdaal in the western countryside of Abu Rasin (Zarkan). No casualties have been reported yet.

On April 16, SOHR sources reported that two SDF members were killed during a failed infiltration attempt into a Turkish checkpoint in Bab al-Faraj near Abu Rassin town in Al-Hasakeh countryside. SOHR sources added that the bodies of SDF members were held by Turkish-backed factions.

Exchange of fire took place in the area between Turkish forces and their proxies on one side, and SDF on the other.

In the meantime, Russian forces mediated with the Turks to recover the bodies of SDF fatalities.

SOHR activists also documented the killing of seven members of Turkish-backed factions during the clashes.
