Following Afrin carnage, Turkish intelligence adopt new precautionary measures by closing all city entrances

Reliable sources have informed the Syrian Observatory that Turkish intelligence has ordered the closure of all entrances of the Turkish-controlled city of Afrin in north-western countryside of Aleppo, from today, Wednesday, until further notice. This decision comes as a precaution following the deadly explosion that took place in the city yesterday, leaving nearly 100 people dead or injured.

SOHR activists documented yesterday the death of 46 persons at least and the injury of more than 50 others due to the explosion of a truck carrying fuel a few meters away from the governor’s residence in Raju street in Afrin city.

The identities of a large number of fatalities are still unknown. The fatalities included charred and mutilated bodies, in addition to 11 children under the age of eighteen, all are residents of Afrin and displaced from different Syrian provinces.

This terrorist attack is the bloodiest one since the Turkish occupation took control of Afrin canton.

The Syrian Observatory activists monitored charred bodies of children and women, and six members of Turkish-backed factions.

Meanwhile, Afrin hospital had appealed for blood donations, as a large number of wounded victims are in serious conditions, while other cases had been sent to Turkish hospitals.
