Tense calm prevails in “de-escalation zone”
Syrian Observatory sources have reported that tense calm is prevailing in the area of “Putin-Erdogan” since the early hours of Tuesday morning, intercepted with regime shelling on areas in Jabal Al-Zawiyah. This tense calm comes on the 61st consecutive day of the new ceasefire in the “de-escalation zone”, after yesterday’s clashes on frontlines of southern Idlib.
SOHR sources reported yesterday that clashes with machine guns erupted between regime forces and loyalists on one side, and rebels and jihadists on the other, following an infiltration attempt by regime forces on Al-Ruwayha frontline in south Idlib countryside. Meanwhile, opposition factions foiled the regime forces’ infiltration attempt, along with exchange of mortar fire between the two sides.
