Looming military operation | Regime forces bring in large military reinforcement to east and west Daraa countryside

Syrian Observatory activists have reported seeing regime forces and loyalists bringing in large military reinforcement to Al-Yadudah town and Tal Al-Khudor, adjacent to Daraa city to the western flank. Reported suggest that regime forces intend to storm Al-Muzayrib town, in order to arrest the former opposition commander, who killed nine regime affiliates on Monday.

The commander in question was supposed to be handed over by the area’s dignitaries, with Russian mediation. However, the commander has been still hiding so far.

On the other hand, regime forces have brought in other military reinforcement to the 52nd Brigade and the 38th Brigade, east of Daraa city, for the purpose of boosting their posts and positions in the wake of escalating assassinations there.

Yesterday, SOHR reported that regime security services threatened to invade the area militarily, if the commander in question would not be handed over before Wednesday. Meanwhile, Russian forces intervened to defuse the tension and get the commander handed over.

“A meeting was held between the area’s dignitaries and representatives of the Russian side, in which the dignitaries vowed to track the commander and hand him over as soon as they found him. Also tribal and local parties issued a statement condemning what the commander had done,” SOHR sources added.
