SOHR sources say that a column of 4×4 vehicles, with writings on them say “Imam Al-Mahdi Brigade”, arrived from Iraq this evening carrying some 200 members heading towards Al-Mazari’a area in Al-Mayadeen city in eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

SOHR Local sources added that the “Imam al-Mahdi Brigade” militia had no presence before in the area.

These forces have a strong foothold in west of the Euphrates in Syria, where they have widespread influence.
