For ransom | Unknown persons kidnap and brutally torture civilian in Idlib

SOHR sources say that unknown persons kidnapped a civilian from the city of Salqin in rural Idlib, demanding his parents pay a large ransom, after sending a video tape, a copy of which was obtained by SOHR, showing the kidnappers cutting off his finger and brutally torturing him.

On the other hand, a civilian from the village of Al-Ya’qubiya in rural Idlib was kidnaped, without knowing the reasons and motives of kidnapping.

Security chaos escalates in areas under the control of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham and opposition factions in Idlib province and surrounding countryside, with the proliferation of kidnapping and extortion gangs for ransom.

SOHR activists reported earlier that a man was found dead with hands shackled, near the outskirts of Al-Wadi Al-Kabeer area between Harem and Sarmada in north-western Idlib.

According to SOHR documentation, the number of people who were killed in the countryside of Idlib, Aleppo, and Hama since the 26th of April 2018, the date since the security chaos escalated in these provinces, has risen to 631.
