SOHR reveals | Forced disappearances continue in HTS prisons

Security officials of Tahrir Al-Sham arrested a young man from Idlib city about a month ago.

Meanwhile, the security forces and the prison officials of HTS denied the presence of the young man in their prisons, the young man nevertheless is still missing for 29 days. While HTS continues its policy of denying the existence of any detainee before being interrogated unless he is arrested through an official note from a Shariah court.

Hayaat Tahrir Al-Sham adopts the method of forced disappearance of anyone against its ideological and political orientations, in addition to intimidating its opponents by threats of arrest of their relatives who live in areas where the security forces of HTS can enter and raid their homes and take them to its prisons, under the pretext of investigation in order to clamp down on them and stifle the voices of their sons.

Moreover, the Syrian Observatory has monitored arrests of anyone who disagrees with the orientations of HTS and the “Salvation Government”, amid widespread public discontent, especially after its recent attempts to open a commercial crossing with regime-controlled areas.
