New attack | Unidentified gunmen attack HTS checkpoint in rural Jisr al-Shughour city

Armed attacks continue to escalate in areas controlled by opposition factions and HTS in Idlib province and the surrounding countryside.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has monitored this morning an armed attack by unknown gunmen, targeting a checkpoint belonging to Hayaat Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS) near Al-Yacoubiya in rural Jisr al-Shughour, west of Idlib. Clashes took place between the two sides and ended with the escape of the attackers. No casualties have been reported.

Yesterday, Syrian Observatory activists monitored a new attack by unknown gunmen on the headquarters of Al-Sham Corps, which is close to Turkey, east of Binnish city in rural Idlib. Clashes erupted between the attackers and Al-Sham Corps members stationed in the headquarters, before the attackers escaped.

It is worth noting that security chaos is recently escalating in areas under the control of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham and opposition factions in Idlib province and surrounding countryside.
