Forced displacement | Ahrar al-Sham expels displaced family from their home in Al-Foua town

Idlib Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR sources have reported that Ahrar al-Sham faction expelled a displaced family from rural Homs, consisting of a mother and four orphaned children, from their house in the town of Al-Foua, near Idlib city, in order to turn it into a military headquarters.

Displaced families from Homs and rural Damascus provinces have lost their homes since their arrival in northern Syria, due to heavy shelling during the recent military operation. Houses turned into military and security headquarters, and homes for the families of fighters in the factions which control the town.

On March 28, reliable sources informed the Syrian Observatory that the National Liberation Front’s “Al-Ahrar Army” threatened to expel families of displaced people living in al-Foua town in north-eastern Idlib countryside.

Civil sources have told the Syrian Observatory that officials of the security force of the “Al-Ahrar Army” issued eviction notices to the homes of about 100 displaced families from Daraya, Eastern Ghouta and other areas in rural Damascus and others who were displaced from areas in eastern Idlib countryside. The notices said that the houses should be evacuated within 10 days, without explaining the reasons.
