Rural Darra | IED explodes nearby military checkpoint, injuring six people

Daraa governorate – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR sources say that a loud explosion was heard in Daraa al-Balad, caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) planted by unknown assailants, near a military checkpoint belonging to regime forces, at the old cemetery in al-Abbasiya area in Daraa al-Balad. Six people sustained injuries of various degrees of severity as a result of the explosion.

This brings the number of attacks and assassination attempts in various forms and methods by detonating IEDs, mines, booby-trapped vehicles and shootings from past June to date, to more than 452 attacks.

While the number of those who killed and died in the same period has risen to 293 persons, 66 of whom are civilians, including seven women and four children, in addition to 157 regime soldiers, loyalists and collaborators with regime security services.

46 members of opposition factions were also killed, those who made “settlements and reconciliations” with the regime and became members of regime security services, including former leaders, and 17 members of Syrian militias affiliated to Lebanese “Hezbollah” and Iranian forces, in addition to six members of so-called “Fifth Corps” established by Russia.
