Al-Raqqah | Fierce clashes and explosions follow Turkish-backed factions infiltration into Ain Issa

Reliable sources have informed the Syrian observatory that a group of Turkish-backed factions has sneaked into Ain Issa town which is under the control of SDF and regime forces in the northern countryside of Al-Raqqah.

Fierce clashes erupted between the two sides, along with the sound of a loud explosion whose nature remained unknown. The clashes left casualties in the ranks of both parties.

On May 17, SOHR sources reported that a group affiliated to factions of the Turkish-backed “National Army” attempted to sneak into the SDF-controlled village of Kobralik in the western countryside of Tal Abyad in northern Al-Raqqah, using tunnels dug earlier in the area.

SDF foiled the factions’ attempt and killed all attackers whose number reached 14. The fighters’ bodies remained in the area.
