New attack | IED explodes killing HTS commander in Idlib

Idlib Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR activists have reported hearing a loud explosion in Idlib city this morning. The explosion was caused by detonating an IED planted earlier under the vehicle of a commander of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham, who is from the eastern countryside of Hama. The explosion killed the commander instantly and caused material damage.

On May 5, SOHR activists said that an armed group tried to storm the headquarters of Ahrar al-Sham’s artillery branch on the outskirts of Al-Fu’ah town in Idlib countryside.  Meanwhile, HTS members responded to the assault and clashed with the attackers with machineguns. The attack left many of attackers injured.

On the other hand, Observatory sources said that unidentified gunmen stopped a military vehicle belonging to “Al-Sham Corps” on the road of Idlib-Ma’rat Misrin, trying to steal the vehicle. No further details were reported.
