US and allies sabotage negotiated solution in Syria
Damascus, May 21 (Prensa Latina) The United States and its allies are sabotaging a negotiated solution to the crisis in Syria, and are encouraging the destruction of the country with disturbing concepts that create a devastating reflection of reality.
After the impossibility of destroying Syria with a terrorist war imposed for nearly ten years, Washington and the supporters of its policy in Western Europe and the Middle East develop an intense economic blockade, support allegedly moderate extremist groups and benefit from the Covid-19 pandemic to suffocate Syria.
In northern Syria, specifically in Aleppo, Hasaka and Idlib provinces, and in the areas of Raqqa and Deir Ezzor, the US stabilizes its support for the so-called Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), controls natural resources such as oil and gas, and creates an infrastructure to guarantee its hegemonic interests.
With 12 bases in the region, Washington is supported by special troops from France, the United Kingdom and other members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), is building two other bases and keeps a fluid supply of resources of all kind through the Iraqi border.
Altogether, it guarantees the reorganization of elements of the Organization for the Liberation of the Levant (formerly Al Nusra) and the Islamic Party of Turkestan, and rehabilitates the members of the Islamic State (Daesh in Arabic), in the vast Al Badiya desert, from another military facility in Al Tanef, in the border triangle among Syria, Iraq and Jordan.
At the same time, Turkey has increased its military presence in northern Aleppo and in the administrative division in Hasaka, where it built the Elisu dam in the Tigris River, Bashar Al Jaafari, Syria’s permanent representative at the United Nations, denounced recently.
Since early 2020, Western Europe has extended the sanctions and the economic and commercial blockade against Syrian companies, officials and personalities, including freezing bank accounts, banning all kinds of supplies and distorting the truth to manipulate humanitarian aid.

From the western centers of power, any kind of negotiation is manipulated, including the meetings of the so-called Constitutional Committee to draw up a new Constitution in Syria, whose special envoy from the UN, Geir Pedersen, said recently that ‘it is impossible to hold meetings, even virtual ones, due to the parties’ discrepancies’.
