Prison break attempt | Tens of prisoners riot in “Sarmada Court’s prison”, amid skirmishes with HTS

Reliable sources have informed the Syrian Observatory that tens of prisoners (held over felony cases) have rioted in “Sarmada Court’s prison”, which is under the control of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham in the northern countryside of Idlib. Over 35 prisoner could broke a door of a room in the prison and got machineguns, then clashes erupted between the armed prisoners and the prison’s guards in an attempt by the prisoners to escape.

 

According to SOHR sources, the prison break attempt failed and the prisoners returned to their wards after leaving the weapons. Meanwhile, HTS brought in reinforcement to the area, amid tension prevailing in the prison.
