Rival factions | New armed fight erupts among Turkish-backed factions in Ras Al-Ain (Sere Kaniye)

Syrian Observatory sources say that fierce clashes erupted in Ras Al-Ain (Sere Kaniye) in the northern countryside of Al-Hasakah, between “Suqur Al-Shamal” and the “20th Division”. The clashes come as a part of ongoing armed infighting among Turkish-backed factions, while the reasons behind today’s fight have yet to be known.

A few days ago, Reliable SOHR sources said that fierce clashes erupted today between “Ahrar Al-Sharqiyyah” on one hand, and “Al-Hamzat Division” backed by forces of the “military police” on the other, in Tal Halaf town in Ras Al-Ain countryside, north of Al-Hasakah.

According to SOHR sources, the clashes left two members of “Ahrar Al-Sharqiyyah” and one member of “Al-Hamzat” injured. The reasons behind this fight were unknown.

On May 14, SOHR sources reported that a dispute, which evolved later to armed fight, took place among the Turkish backed factions of “Al-Rahman Corps”, Al-Sultan Murad”, and “al-Mu’tasim Division”, in the villages of Ahras, Sawda and Laylan in the north-western countryside of Tal Tamr and west Ras Al-Ain countryside, north of Al-Hasakah.

According to SOHR sources, the fight flared up among these factions after disagreement over distributing stolen objects which the factions looted from houses in the area as well as taking over these houses.
