Violations in “Peace Spring” areas | Factions continue committing arsons, causing significant damage to agricultural crops and equipment

Civil sources have informed the Syrian Observatory that members of the Turkish-backed factions continue to set crops and agricultural projects on fire in countryside of Tal Tamer. Locals saw them today committing arsons in the villages of Al-Qasimiyah, Um al-Khair and other areas in countryside of Tal Tamer.

Meanwhile, the fires are still raging causing extensive damage to crops and equipment of agricultural projects, such as water extraction engines, other agricultural machinery, water tanks and homes of citizens in that area.

Yesterday, SOHR eyewitnesses reported that the fires in the town of Tal Tamer spread to the town of Um al-Kef, today, after several fires broke out in agricultural crops in the villages of Al-Qasimiyah, Al-Rashidia, Al-Rihania and Al-Daoudia in Tal Tamer countryside. Local sources have said that farmers in north-eastern Syria harvest their crop before it’s ripe, for fear of fire spreading to their crops.

Over the past few days, Ankara-backed factions have been setting fire on fields and agricultural crops owned by civilians near their areas of control in eastern and north-eastern Syria, targeting them with shells and machine guns.

While people face severe difficulties in extinguishing these arsons, due to their proximity to the areas held by Turks and proxy factions.
