Daraa instability | Unknown gunmen assassinate “collaborator” with Hezbollah, and little girl killed in another attack

Daraa Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR activists have documented the killing of a little girl after being hit with a gunshot of unknown origin in Daraa Al-Balad in Daraa city.

On the other hand, unknown gunmen opened fire with machineguns on a former fighter of opposition factions in Inkhil town in rural Daraa. The attack left the ex-fighter and a child escorting him dead. It is worth noting that the ex-fighter had reconciled with security services and worked later with Iranian-backed militias in the area.

Since the beginning of security chaos in Daraa in early June 2019, Syrian Observatory activists have documented more than 476 attacks and assassination attempts by gunfire and detonations of IEDs, motorcycle-bombs and car-bombs. These attacks and assassinations claimed the lives of 310 persons, and they are as follows:

  • 76 civilians, including seven women and seven children

  • 162 regime soldiers, loyalists and collaborators with regime security services

  • 49 fighters of the faction who struck “reconciliation and settlements” deals with the regime and became in the ranks of regime’s security branches, including former commanders

  • 17 Syrian militiamen affiliated to the Lebanese Hezbollah and Iranian forces

  • Six members of the so-called 5th Corps which was established by Russia.
