Violent explosion hits rural Jisr Al-Shughur killing and injuring several jihadists

Syrian Observatory activists have reported hearing a loud explosion in Al-Taybat village near Al-Ghassaniyyah area in the western countryside of Jisr Al-Shughur, caused by the explosion of a depot warehouse affiliated to the Turkistan Islamic Party.

The explosion coincided with Russian jets flying over the area. The explosion also left six fighters of the Turkistan Islamic Party and other jihadi groups dead. The death toll is expected to rise because of the serious injuries of some casualties.

SOHR sources have just monitored Russian jets flying over the western countryside of Aleppo and Idlib countryside. Meanwhile, clashes erupted in the early hours of Wednesday morning in Tqad area in the western countryside of Aleppo, between opposition factions and regime forces.

On the other hand, regime forces shelled places in Al-Fterah, Sfuhen and the vicinity of Kansafra in jabl Al-Zawiyah in the southern countryside of Idlib.

These developments came on the 83rd consecutive day of ceasefire in the “de-escalation zone”.
