Aleppo-Al-Hasakeh international road | Movement of civilians and commercial traffic returns in areas controlled by “Self-Administration”, and Russian vehicles escort oil trucks

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has monitored today convoys of civilian cars and commercial trucks passing on the Aleppo-Al-Hasakeh road, known as “M4”.

Commercial vehicles enter from the crossings in the regime-controlled areas in eastern Aleppo countrysde, through Al-Raqqa governorate to Al-Hasakah and vice versa. While civilian vehicles passed on the road which is under the control of “Self-Administration”.

According to Observatory sources, Russian military vehicles escorted oil trucks belonging to the company of al-Qatirji traveling on the “M4” road, while a dispute was occurred between Russian forces and SD because of the passage of those trucks. 

According to SOHR sources, the second phase of the Turkish-Russian agreement on the opening of Aleppo-Al-Hasakah international highway (M4), stipulates for Turkish-backed factions pull-out from the frontlines of Tal Tamr and Abu Rasin in northern Al-Hasakah to seven km towards Turkey border, in addition to full suspension of military operation in the area.

“The implementation of Russia-Turkey agreement means that Syria Democratic Forces accept the recent development on the ground by Turkish forces and their proxies during ‘Peace Spring’ operation in north-eastern Syria,” the sources added.
