Jabhat al- Nusra stands for impartiality and refuse the entry of Jaysh al- Islam to al- Yarmouk refugee camp

SOHR received a copy of a statement issued by Jabhat al- Nusra that “We explained to all people that we, in Jabhat al- Nusra in the south of Damascus, stand for impartiality in the ongoing clashes between IS and Aknaf Bayt al- Maqdes in al- Yarmouk Camp, and we are not the only faction that we adopt this, so Ahrar al- Sham adopt the same attitude. We have taken the decision of calm for the sake of the exhausted besieged area. The impartiality attitude is not to evade responsibility as if those who strike us forget how we bear new burdens as well as our rebat on the frontlines with the Nusayri regime, Ahmad Jebril’s Shabiha and Fateh al- Intifada battalions in al- Yarmouk Camp. In addition to, we have confronted the reconciliation’s groups alone in the areas of Yilda, Babbila and Bayt Sahem since the start of fighting until now. Our brothers in Jabhat al- Nusra are still working on finding solution for this crisis at the request of the notables of al- Yarmouk Camp and with cooperation with relief bodies in the camp.” The statement noted that Jabahat al- Nusra has opened its posts and saved all who do not want to fight.

The statement declared that Jaysh al- Islam asked to pass from Jabhat al- Nusra- held points in order to reach to the camp to fight IS. “ with whom they want to enter? With Sham al- Rasol Brigade that has involved in reconciliation with the criminal regime; this brigade which stabbed us in the back in Bayt Sahem and instigated and fought to get us out of it. Thus, Jabhat al- Nusra has rejected their request, so how can we allow for those who fought us in Bayt Sahem to enter the camp,” the statement added.

“The is no legitimacy to fight Jabhat al- Nusra by any faction in the south of Damascus on pretext of preventing these factions to pass towards al- Yarmouk refugee camp because there is another way towards al- Hajar al- Aswad area which is the key IS stronghold in the area,” the satatment noted. In addition to, Jabhat al- Nusra appealed the faithful members in Jaysh al- Islam ti uphold the right and reject fighting Jabhat al- Nusra in order not to be dragged to a fight that serves those who betrayed Muslims’ blood and their honors”.
