Mass demonstration in Afrin | People call upon Erdogan and governor for stopping violations against Afrin’s residents

SOHR activists have monitored a mass demonstration in Afrin city this afternoon. The demonstrators headed to the governor’s residence where they chanted slogans calling upon the governor to interfere and stop the daily violations against the people of Afrin and displaced people from other Syrian provinces. The demonstrators also chanted slogans calling upon the Turkish president, Receb Tayyip Erdogan, to order the factions of the Turkish-backed “National Army” to bring their military headquarters out of the city’s residential neighbourhoods.

These demonstrations come after yesterday’s dramatic fight between gunmen of “Al-Hamzah Division” on one hand, and displaced gunmen from eastern Ghouta backed by members of other factions on the other.

The fight flared up after a fighter of “Al-Hamzah Division” had killed a displaced person from eastern Ghouta as he refused to give the fighter foodstuffs for free. The fight evolved to clashes between the two sides leaving a displaced child from Maarrat Al-Nu’man dead. Another child. who has been not known yet if he was a fighter in “Al-Hamzah Division” or a civilian. was killed.
