Protests in areas held by Turkish-backed factions | Demonstrations in Azaz and Afrin, protesting corruption of relief office and demanding the release of detainees

SOHR eyewitnesses say that a mass demonstration took place this evening in front of Azaz’s relief office, protesting against the corruption of its director and members of the office.

The demonstrators demanded the prosecution of the relief office’s corrupt members for distributing relief rations to relatives and friends without consider the residents’ needs.

Meanwhile, a demonstration also took place in the city of Afrin. Demonstrators demanded the release of detainees in the prisons of Turkish-backed factions.

Yesterday, SOHR activists monitored a mass demonstration in Afrin city. The demonstrators roamed the city’s neighbourhoods, heading to the governor’s residence where they chanted slogans calling upon the governor to interfere and stop the daily violations against the people of Afrin and displaced people from other Syrian provinces. The demonstrators also chanted slogans calling upon the Turkish president, Receb Tayyip Erdogan, to order the factions of the Turkish-backed “National Army” to bring their military headquarters out of the city’s residential neighbourhoods.
