Syrian Observatory activists have confirmed that Turkish forces have deployed this afternoon in Ariha city near Aleppo-Latakia international highway (M4) in the southern countryside of Idlib.

Turkish forces’ deployment coincides with the ongoing reinforcement and build-up in the area, especially near the M4 highway and south Idlib countryside.

Yesterday, SOHR sources monitored new military reinforcement brought in by regime forces and loyalists to the frontlines of Idlib province in northern Syria. According to Observatory sources, regime forces sent new reinforcement to the frontlines of Jabal al-Zawiya in south Idlib countryside, and al-Talhiya frontlines in the east of Taftanaz town.

On the other hand, the opposition factions and HTS fortified and boosted their positions in the southern countryside of Idlib and frontlines in Sahl Al-Ghab, while Turkish forces boosted their positions in Jabal al-Zawiyah in the south Idlib countryside.

Meanwhile, reports suggested that Turkish forces deployed air-defence systems on the top of the strategic hill “Al-Nabi Ayoub” in Jabal al-Zawiyah.

The ongoing reinforcement by both sides coincide with anticipations for a new military operation, if the Russian-Turkish negotiations on several issues fail. The most prominent issues are Aleppo-Latakia international highway “M4” and the return of civilians to their areas after being displaced due to the  recent military operations.
