Al-Hawl mini state: 103 persons mostly children have died since early 2020, amid inhumane situation in the camp

Conditions in “Al-Hawl mini-state” in north-eastern Al-Hasakah are still deteriorating, affecting mainly  medical services in the camp, amid inaction of all international bodies which are still unable to find a solution for the crisis of the “Camp of Death” and remained content with justproviding very little help and support.

Syrian Observatory activists have documented the death of 21 persons, including children under the age of 18, bringing the number of people who have died since early 2020 to 103 persons, including 62 children under the age of 18. The deteriorating health and living conditions, lack of medicine, and shortage of medical care in the camp are  major factors behind the increase of death toll in the camp.

Accordingly, the number of people who have died since early January 2019 to date rose to 588 persons, including 488 children under the age of 18. The people in Al-Hool camp have been suffering from the inhumane situation, especially after the camp turned into a mini state mostly accommodating children and women of the families of ISIS members.

The children who died were nationals of Britain, Portugal, Russia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Belgium, China, Chechnya, Turkestan, Morocco, Tunisia, Maldives, Indonesia. Somalia, and India, as well as other nationalities
