IED attacks | Explosion targets Russian-Turkish joint patrol on M4

Syrian Observatory sources have monitored a violent explosion on Aleppo-Latakia international highway (M4), caused by the detonation of an IED nearby Ariha. The IED exploded just after the passing of a Russian-Turkish joint patrol on the M4 highway, but no casualties have been reported.

After the explosion, Turkish forces were seen in the area on high alert. A joint patrol of Russian and Turkish forces had set off this morning from Tarnabah village to Kafr Shalaya village in rural Idlib.

This attack come a week after the killing of a Turkish soldier on M4. SOHR sources reported at that time that a Turkish soldier died affected by the injuries he sustained in an IED explosion on Aleppo-Latakia highway, west of Jisr al-Shughour city.
