Drone attacks | 12 Iranian-backed militiamen killed in airstrikes on their positions in eastern Deir Ezzor

Reliable SOHR sources confirmed that unidentified drones struck headquarters of Iranian militias in M’eizileh base in eastern Deir Ezzor. The Iranian positions were hit with eight airstrikes just before midnight.

The drones attack killed 12 Iranian-backed militiamen of Iraqi and Afghani nationalities, and destroyed  vehicles and ammunition depots.

It is worth noting that the Iranian-backed militias brought in military reinforcement to the targeted positions three days ago.

SOHR sources reported on June 3 that the Iranian-backed militia of “Fatemiyoun” brought in a military column that morning to its positions in Al-Mayadeen city in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. Nearly 30 vehicles carrying military and logistical equipment as well as fighters arrived in the militia’s position, coming from Al-Herri town on Iraq border.

According to SOHR sources, the column had been stationed in Al-Mazare’ area which now has large concentrations of Iranian forces and loyal militias.
