Rural Deir ez-Zor | SDF arrests woman demanding the extradition of her husband, and residents of al-Sha’itat area threaten to attack SDF headquarters

SOHR activists say that members of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) arrested today a woman from the area of Al-Sha’itat in Deir ez-Zor countryside, while she was on her way to rural Al-Hasakah, where her husband lives. SDF members demanded the husband turn himself in, accusing him of “belonging” to the “National Army” in the city of Ras al-Ain.

In the meantime, the woman’s relatives threatened to attack the headquarters and members of SDF in Deir ez-Zor countryside, if she is not released.

Dignitaries from the Al-Shi’at tribe also intervened to release her, coinciding with the discontent of the residents.

Moreover, SDF’s HAT forces have forcibly dispersed a demonstration today in the village of Al-Subha in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, protesting the rising prices and what they called “the theft of oil by the Kurds”.
