“De-escalation zone” | Nearly 30 Russian airstrikes pound rural Idlib and Hama, and regime forces shell the villages of Jabal al-Zawiya with artillery

SOHR sources say that Russian jets bombarded this evening the villages of Al-Fatira and Kansafra in Idlib countryside.

The number of raids carried out by these jets jumps to about 30, targeting Kansafra, Kafr Aweid, Al-Mozra, Safohin, Ain Larouz in Idlib countryside, Al-Fatatra, Al-Manara, Al-Zaqum, and the frontlines of Sahl Al-Ghab in the north-western Hama countryside.

Meanwhile, regime forces stationed in Idlib countryside shelled al-Rawiha, Harsh the village of Benin, south of Idlib.

On the other hand, regime forces shelled villages and areas of Jabal al-Zawiya and Sahl Al-Ghab with heavy artillery, igniting fires in Sahl Al-Ghab.

Hours ago, SOHR activists reported that Russian airstrikes reached many areas in the “de-escalation zone”. Russian jets targeted areas in al-Zakum, Kafr Aweid, Sofhin, Al-Fatira, Al-Murza, Quqfin, Ain Laroz, Al-Fatatra, Al-Manara in Sahl Al-Ghab and Jabal al-Zawiya in rural Idlib and Hama.

Meanwhile, Russian airstrikes on Al-Morza killed one person and injured a number of civilians.

SOHR sources have reported earlier that regime forces were able to regain control of the villages of Al-Fatatra and Al-Manara in Sahl Al-Ghab in north-west rural Hama. The recaptures followed the withdrawal of jihadist groups from the two villages in the wake of Russian airstrikes in addition to intensive ground bombardment.

SOHR activists have documented further fatalities as a result of air and ground bombardment and fierce clashes. The death toll of jihadist groups in the “Waharid al-Mu’minin” operations room has risen to 22, including a fighter of Syrian national, while 19 regime soldiers were killed in the jihadists’ attack.
