The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has monitored this evening a demonstration in Azaz town, which is controlled by Turkish-backed factions in northern Aleppo, commemorating the first “martyrdom” anniversary of Abdul Basit Al-Sarot

Yesterday, hundreds of activists gathered in Idlib city today to take part in a large demonstration, commemorating one-year anniversary of the “martyrdom” of Abdul Basit Al-Sarot.

The activists of the Syrian revolution appealed to citizens to participate in the demonstration to commemorate the “martyrdom” anniversary of Al-Sarot, and to emphasize the principles of the revolution and its continuation.

On June 8, 2011, Al-Sarot was killed in the battles of the villages of Al-Jabin and Tal Mileh, north of Hama.

On June 4, SOHR eyewitnesses reported that a mass demonstration was held in the city of Idlib, with the participation of revolutionary and civil events, to commemorate the ninth anniversary of the massacre of “Children of Freedom’s Friday” which claimed the lives of dozens of people in the city of Hama.
