Joint patrols in Idlib | Turkish forces deploy on M4, in preparation for running new patrol with the Russians

Syrian Observatory activists have monitored Turkish forces deploying this morning on Latakia-Aleppo international highway (M4), from Al-Nayreb village in eastern Idlib to Muhambel area in west Idlib countryside.

According to SOHR sources, a new Russian-Turkish joint patrol is expected to be run on m4 in the incoming hours. The Turkish forces’ deployment on the M4 highway comes following the repeated attacks on the joint patrols there.

On June 5, Observatory activists documented the killing of a Turkish soldier and the injury of another in uncertain circumstances. The two soldiers were attacked on the road between Idlib and Sarmin cities, near the Turkish observation post in the area.

While of June 4, Observatory sources have reported hearling a violent explosion on Aleppo-Latakia international highway (M4), caused by the detonation of an IED nearby Ariha. The IED exploded just after the passing of a Russian-Turkish joint patrol on the M4 highway.
