Al-Suwaidaa uprising | For the fourth consecutive day, people of “Jabal Al-Arab” participate in anti-regime demonstrations

Al-Suwaidaa Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR sources monitored tens of people of “Jabal Al-Arab” participating in a new anti-regime demonstration in Al-Fukhar square in Al-Suwaidaa city. The demonstrators renewed their calls for the toppling of the Syrian regime, at a time when fabricated a pro-regime rally went out in the city.

SOHR sources have just monitored employees, students and members in Al-Baath party participating in a pro-regime rally in the governorate square in Al-Suwaidaa city. The crowds lifted slogans in support of the Syrian regime. This rally comes after threats of prosecute every one who refuses to participate in the pro-regime rally, which the head of the “Syrian Students’ Council in Al-Suwaidaa” called for yesterday.

SOHR sources reported yesterday that reliable sources informed the Syrian Observatory that the Syrian regime and its loyalists affiliated with Al-Baath party were preparing to amass civilians, especially students and employees in Al-Suwaidaa for a rally in support of the Syrian government, in response to the successive protests against the regime.

The Syrian regime follows such tactics as a kind of indirect threat to the demonstrators, along with giving greater powers to its military, security and party forces. Meanwhile, residents feared of a direct confrontation with opponents of the regime.
